The Village of Omegna
The city of Omegna can be found on the northern border of Lake Orta and is, with its 15,000 inhabitants, the most populated community in the lake territory. In the valley bottom, between the Strona Valley and the Mottarone, sits the industrial and artisanal city, full of trading posts and industrial outlets, specifically for the sale of household items.
The Moka Express was invented in Omegna and the pressure cooker was produced in mass here. The adventure of the pastaiola, a special pot used to cook and drain pasta, began here as well.
This small town offers a charming stroll that connects its historical city center with the community of Bagnella; Thursday mornings you can find products of all sorts at the weekly local market whose stands run along the entire path.
